Accessing Existing EC Records – Assigning Documents

Assigning Documents to an Existing EC Record There are several methods to assign additional documents to an EC record. As an example, an existing ECN record may have a part assigned to it but perhaps the ECN record should also include its assigned part’s parent assemblies. Users could assign the part’s parent assemblies by: 1. Creating a [Working Set] of the affected parent assemblies (from within MechWorks PDM), then: 2. Open the ECN Data Form in Edit mode, then: 3. Select the [Add Working Set] Button from within the ECN Data Form… The following example show the (3) steps noted above in detail: 1. From MechWorks PDM, create a [Working Set] of the affected parent assemblies: There are several ways to create a [Working Set] within MechWorks PDM (documented in detail within the MechWorks PDM help and training documentation). An easy method is to right-mouse select the identified/desired assembly (or assemblies) and select [Working Set]  [Create Working Set]:

This will create the initial [Working Set] of the selected documents within MechWorks PDM:

To add additional documents to this [Working Set], right-mouse select the desired records within MechWorks PDM and select [Working Set]  [Append to Existing Working Set]:
