AutoNumber Format Options – Drawings Tab

When saving a drawing and selecting an AutoNumber Format with its option Drawings Part Numbers Are Generated From Main Component enabled, then the Drawing’s part number will be derived from:

1. the component’s (Model) [ ID ] value from within MechWorks PDM. 2. the component’s (Model) [ FILE_NAME ] value from within MechWorks PDM. 3. the user will be prompted to select from either the component’s (Model) [ ID ] or its [ FILE_NAME ] value (from within MechWorks PDM).

Referencing the following examples, the Drawings inherited the part number value accordingly from their linked Models, without an automatic suffix being applied (so these are the first Drawings for each of these Models):

Based on the results from the figure above, it is likely that the related options were activated as noted below:

Based on the options noted above, the first Drawing will not include the [ Suffix Separator ] and two additional digits that represent the additional Drawing because the above option is enabled: Add A Suffix Beginning With The: Second Drawing
