AutoNumber Format Options – Rename Tab

Rename <> Configurations: Prompt The User When this option is enabled, the user will be prompted with the [ Rename Options ] dialog after selecting the AutoNumber Format during a rename event:

NOTE: The other options below the Prompt The User option are disabled if it is active.

With the Prompt The User option active for the selected AutoNumber Format , the user will be prompted with a dialog, allowing them to make a decision on what must change:

After making a decision to use the Rename File and Configuration option, the user will be prompted by MechWorks PDM to confirm the physical File Name being renamed:

The following two figures show that both the Model and its Drawing were renamed [ FILE_NAME ] values, that their [ ID ] values were updated accordingly, and that the [ CONFIGURATION ] value was also renamed:
