Appendix C: Replace DWG

Reviewing the following figure, it is clear that there are five legacy DWG files that are in different states (NEW, CHECKED-OUT , CHECKED-IN, RELEASED, and CHECKED-OUT to a different user) and with different revision values:

While saving a Model and selecting the AutoNumber Format that has its Replace DWG option active, the user will be allowed to search for the legacy DWG file to be replaced/promoted. The following figure shows that the user provided a partial value of “ eng 0015 ” and that the resulting list contains four of the five records from the previous figure. This is to be expected since one of the legacy DWG files noted within the previous figure that matches the search string of “ eng 0015 ” is currently CHECKED-OUT to a different user:

The end results are different, depending on which of the noted legacy DWG files (from the above figure) is selected. Please reference the following figures accordingly:

ENG 001555 was automatically assigned the default revision (for this environment) of “ 00 ” and changed from a NEW state to a CHECKED-OUT state:

ENG 001556 was left within its current CHECKED-OUT state (to the active user) at its current revision (notice that its assigned model is an Assembly):
