Appendix C: Replace DWG

When the designer saves the new 3-dimensional model (executing a Save As command), if they select the AutoNumber Format that has its Replace DWG option active, the user will be allowed to Search for the legacy DWG file to be replaced. Type the [ ID ] value or a portion of its [ ID ] value to select from the listed DWG files that match the supplied search string: SolidWorks Inventor Solid Edge

The selected DWG file will be automatically CHECKED-OUT to the designer (incrementing its revision if necessary), and the new model will be inserted as a child of the DWG drawing at the same revision: SolidWorks
