AutoNumber Global Options

Global Options: Always Show Format List Before Category Wizard If the option to Always Show Format List Before Category Wizard is enabled, then the [ Format List ] will always be displayed before the [ Save Wizard ], even if one or more AutoNumber Formats are linked to specific Categories (see pages 36-39 for more information about linking a specific AutoNumber Format to a specific definition of Categories ). The purpose of activating this option is to automatically assign specified Categories , depending on the selected AutoNumber Format . For example, if the “Pin” AutoNumber Format has one specified set of Linked Categories as follows:

If the option to Always Show Format List Before Category Wizard is enabled , then the [ Format List ] will be displayed first when the user performs a Save As. If the user selects the “Pin” Format , then the document will automatically be categorized using its assigned Linked Categories without displaying the [ Save Wizard ]:

On the other hand, if the user selects an AutoNumber Format without a specifically assigned Linked Category definition, then the [ Save Wizard ] will be displayed after the user selects from the [ Format List ] (if the selected AutoNumber Format has the Use Categories option enabled). NOTE: If the user selects an AutoNumber Format with more than one possible set of Linked Categories , then the [ Save Wizard ] will be displayed after the [ Format List ], as it is not supported to push more than one set of Linked Categories to a document.
